Niche Academy

Video tutorials for digital and online resources such as Ancestry, Tumblebooks, GALE, Consumer Reports, Libby, Hoopla, Microsoft Office, social media, and NoveIist.

Transparent Language

Choose from over 100 languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu, with multiple dialects for Spanish, French, and Chinese. Kids ages 6+ can access KidSpeak for six of the more popular languages for a more age-appropriate learning experience.

Libby

This popular and free app allows Library card holders to download many of the most popular ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines free of charge. Stream titles to a device with WiFi or mobile data, or download selections for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. 

PebbleGo

An excellent source for elementary-school reports or general learning with this database on a variety of animals and people (biographies).

Britannica Encyclopedias

Access a variety of encyclopedia databases, including Encyclopedia Britannica in Spanish, Britannica School, Britannica Library, and Britannica Fundamentals.

Heritage Quest

Genealogical records and historical sources for more than 60 countries dating back to the 1700s. Powered by Ancestry.com, but can be accessed outside of the Library whereas Ancestry.com Library Edition is for in-Library use only, 

Consumer Reports

Available to Lakeville Public Library cardholders, ConsumerReports.org is one of the most trusted sources for information and advice on consumer products and services, with ratings and recommendations on cars, appliances, electronics, and thousands of other products. Just enter a current library card number when prompted to use this service.

kanopy

Use a current Lakeville Library card to stream favorite films and British cinema, commercial free, with kanopy. Their selection includes major motion pictures, indie films, foreign films, and documentaries. Works on all internet-connected devices: computers, tablets, smartphones, and televisions so that "movie night" can be any time.

For in-library use only, Ancestry® Library Edition offers a large database for genealogy research. (Home access is not available at this time.) Need additional help researching the family tree? Use a current Library card to borrow audiobooks, eBooks, comics, movies, TV series, magazines, or music, all at no charge and with no waiting lists. Works on all types of screens and devices: computers, tablets, smartphones, cars (with Bluetooth), and on many televisions. Hoopla will even sync across devices.

Miss Humblebee's Academy

Provided free to Library patrons, Miss Humblebee's Academy is a fun, interactive online kindergarten readiness program for children ages three to six. This standards-based curriculum has hundreds of guided lessons, as well as online and offline activities and resources for parents and caregivers. The password to access this website and its materials is: patriot.

NovelList Plus

This large database provides reading recommendations based on preferences and moods, or search for "read alikes" to broaden your reading horizon.
